About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is essential for the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated control systems and instrumentation across various industrial applications. You will work collaboratively with a remote team of engineers and technicians, leveraging digital tools to develop robust and efficient automation solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of control theory, PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems for industrial automation applications.
- Select appropriate instrumentation, sensors, and control hardware for various process requirements.
- Implement and commission control systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing plant infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and optimize control system performance, addressing issues remotely and coordinating with on-site personnel when necessary.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, and functional specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with process engineers, project managers, and clients in a remote team setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and control system design and implementation.
- Proficiency with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation) and HMI/SCADA software.
- Strong understanding of process control loops, PID tuning, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus).
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven experience working effectively in a fully remote environment with strong virtual collaboration skills.
