Remote Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer

Our client is looking for a skilled Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer to join their distributed engineering team on a fully remote basis. This role is critical for the design, development, integration, and testing of complex electrical power and distribution systems for next-generation aircraft. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all electrical components and architectures, working from your home office. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as applied to aerospace applications and be adept at collaborating effectively within a virtual team environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems for aircraft applications.
  • Develop system requirements, architecture, and detailed design specifications for electrical systems.
  • Perform load analysis, fault tolerance studies, and reliability predictions for electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with harness designers, component engineers, and systems integration teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Develop and execute test plans for electrical system components and assemblies, often coordinating remotely with test facilities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical system issues and develop effective solutions, utilizing remote diagnostic tools where possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in aircraft electrical systems design and analysis.
  • Proficiency with electrical system design tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Zuken E3.series) and simulation software.
  • Knowledge of relevant aerospace standards (e.g., ARP4754, DO-254) and practices for electrical systems.
  • Experience with testing and validation of complex electrical systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective remote collaboration.
