Remote Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Financial Controller to lead their finance operations entirely from a remote capacity. This senior role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. You will manage a distributed team, implement robust financial controls, and provide critical insights to executive leadership. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Oversee the preparation and timely issuance of all financial statements and reports according to IFRS.
• Establish and enforce policies and procedures to maintain internal controls and safeguard assets.
• Manage all tax compliance and regulatory filings for the organization.
• Develop and execute strategic financial plans, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead and mentor a remote finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• A professional qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is essential.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a controller or similar leadership position.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS , financial reporting, and South African tax laws.
• Proven experience managing remote teams and implementing cloud-based financial systems.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
