Remote Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Remote Freight Forwarder to manage international and domestic shipments from the comfort of their home office. This role is essential for coordinating the transportation of goods across borders, handling all aspects of customs, documentation, and logistics. You will act as a liaison between clients, carriers, and customs authorities, ensuring seamless and compliant movement of cargo. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a deep understanding of international trade regulations and shipping procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage international and domestic freight shipments for clients.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, and trucking companies to book space and manage transport.
• Liaise with customs brokers and authorities to ensure smooth customs clearance.
• Track shipments and provide clients with regular updates on their cargo's status.
• Resolve any issues that arise during transit, such as delays or damages.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade laws and regulations.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to provide competitive pricing to clients.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of shipping procedures, Incoterms, and customs regulations .
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and online tracking systems.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Familiarity with different modes of transport (air, sea, road, rail).
