Remote Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and security-conscious Remote Network Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure from anywhere in South Africa . This fully remote role is critical for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our client's network operations. You will be responsible for configuring, implementing, and supporting LAN/WAN networks, including firewalls, routers, and switches. The ideal candidate possesses strong troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of network protocols, and the ability to work independently in a distributed environment, safeguarding the company's digital assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
• Configure, install, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network problems, identifying and resolving connectivity issues.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including intrusion detection and prevention systems.
• Perform regular network backups and disaster recovery planning.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar network engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and DNS.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or similar.
• Proficiency in network security principles and best practices.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
