Remote Production Planning Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and strategic Remote Production Planning Specialist to optimize production schedules and resource allocation across their manufacturing network. Working entirely remotely, you will be responsible for forecasting demand, developing production plans, and ensuring efficient material flow to meet customer orders while minimizing costs and lead times. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams, including sales, procurement, and operations, to support facilities near Mahikeng and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate production forecasts based on sales data and market trends.
• Create detailed production schedules, balancing capacity, material availability, and demand.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely supply of raw materials and components.
• Monitor production progress against schedules and make necessary adjustments to resolve deviations.
• Optimize inventory levels of finished goods and work-in-progress.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to manage order fulfillment and customer expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP, APS systems) and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective remote teamwork.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
