About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Remote Purchasing Manager to lead their global procurement efforts, supporting operations in Benoni . This leadership role requires a strategic mindset to drive cost savings, enhance supply chain efficiency, and manage a diverse portfolio of suppliers from the comfort of your home office. You will be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies, leading a remote team, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of all necessary goods and services. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals and market conditions.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a remote team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Oversee all aspects of the procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and vendor performance.
  • Drive significant cost savings initiatives through strategic sourcing, demand management, and supplier consolidation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Analyze spending patterns and market trends to identify opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation within the Gauteng region and beyond.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in purchasing and procurement, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful cost-saving procurement strategies.
  • Exceptional negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing remote teams and utilizing virtual collaboration tools effectively.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant certifications are highly desirable.
