Role Overview:We are seeking an experienced and passionate Smart Contract Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and deploy secure and efficient smart contracts on the Berachain platform. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize product features and requirements. • Conduct thorough testing and audits of smart contracts to ensure security and reliability. • Optimize smart contracts for performance and gas efficiency. • Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for smart contract code and development processes. • Monitor and troubleshoot deployed smart contracts to ensure their correct and efficient operation. • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in smart contract development and blockchain technology. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. • 3+ years of experience in smart contract development with proficiency in Solidity or Vyper. • Strong understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and blockchain architecture. • Experience with development tools such as Truffle, Hardhat, or Remix. • Familiarity with security best practices in smart contract development and experience conducting security audits. • Experience with testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai, or Waffle. • Knowledge of DeFi protocols and decentralized applications (DApps). • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid team environment. • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Background:Build-A-Bera is the capital arm/incubator for Berachain, a high-performance, EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible, Layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK.

Berachain uses a variant of delegated Proof of Stake called Proof of Liquidity consensus to rehypothecate liquidity as security at the protocol level, aligning incentives between liquidity and security across the ecosystem.

As a Smart Contract Engineer at Build-A-Bera, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing secure and efficient smart contracts that power our blockchain ecosystem.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of blockchain technology, particularly Ethereum and the EVM, and is skilled in smart contract development and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with smart contract languages other than Solidity (e.g., Rust, Move). • Contributions to open-source projects or participation in the blockchain developer community. • Familiarity with the Cosmos SDK and cross-chain interoperability protocols. • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools.
