Remote Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Remote Logistics Planner to optimize their transportation and distribution network. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing efficient logistics operations, focusing on cost reduction and service level improvement. Your role will involve analyzing shipping data, managing carrier relationships, and developing optimal routing strategies to support our client's extensive operations, including those in the Stellenbosch region. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of logistics principles and a proven ability to work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive logistics plans to support business objectives.
• Optimize transportation routes, modes, and carrier selection to achieve cost-efficiency and timely deliveries.
• Monitor and manage the execution of logistics operations, proactively addressing any deviations or issues.
• Analyze logistics performance data and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
• Negotiate freight rates and contracts with carriers to secure competitive pricing.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external logistics partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics planning or transportation management.
• Proven ability to analyze complex logistics data and develop effective solutions.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote setting.
