About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Remote Senior Mechanical Designer to join their globally distributed product development team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications for complex systems and components, working entirely from your remote location. You will play a critical part in translating conceptual designs into producible engineering data, ensuring adherence to quality, performance, and manufacturing standards. Key Responsibilities

• Generate detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and assemblies using advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA).

• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs, tolerance analyses, and design reports.

• Collaborate effectively with remote engineering teams, project managers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure design intent is clearly understood and executed.

• Perform design verification and validation activities, including simulations and calculations, to ensure designs meet specifications.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and engineers within the remote team.

• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to design tools, processes, and standards for enhanced efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of professional experience as a Mechanical Designer, with a strong portfolio of complex designs.

• Expert proficiency in industry-standard 3D CAD software and PDM/PLM systems.

• Deep understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, sheet metal), and GD&T.

• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects simultaneously in a remote setting.

• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills for remote collaboration.
