Remote Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Structural Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and assessment of various structural systems for a wide range of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural principles, building codes, and advanced modeling software. Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for new constructions and renovations using industry-standard software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure design integrity and project success.
• Review and approve shop drawings and construction submittals.
• Conduct structural assessments and provide recommendations for existing structures.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in structural engineering, materials, and building codes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD. Pro, Revit Structure).
• Solid understanding of structural mechanics, materials, and load calculations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, crucial for remote collaboration.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
