About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Remote HR Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing and related HR functions for their distributed workforce. This fully remote position is essential for ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, managing statutory deductions, and maintaining compliance with payroll regulations. You will work closely with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide support to employees regarding payroll inquiries. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of payroll systems and South African payroll legislation, and thrives in an independent, remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely payroll for all employees on a regular cycle.

• Manage statutory deductions, including PAYE, UIF, and SDL, ensuring compliance.

• Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies or errors promptly.

• Administer employee benefits related to payroll, such as pension and medical aid contributions.

• Liaise with relevant government bodies for payroll-related submissions and queries.

• Provide exceptional support to employees regarding their payroll queries and concerns.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Payroll Management, Accounting, or Human Resources.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in payroll processing, specifically within South Africa.

• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., VIP Payroll, Sage) and HRIS systems.

• Thorough understanding of South African payroll legislation and tax requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for remote collaboration.
