About the Role

Our client, a progressive organisation dedicated to the well-being of children and young people, is seeking motivated and empathetic Remote Child and Youth Care Workers. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to provide crucial support and guidance to young individuals from the convenience of your home. You will be responsible for offering emotional support, practical assistance, and mentorship to young people facing various challenges, utilizing digital communication tools. Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote emotional support, guidance, and mentorship to children and young people.
• Conduct virtual check-ins and engage in constructive conversations with young clients.
• Assist young people in developing life skills, goal setting, and problem-solving strategies via digital platforms.
• Educate youth on important topics such as mental health, safety, and responsible decision-making through online sessions.
• Collaborate with case managers, supervisors, and other professionals involved in the young person's care plan.
• Maintain accurate and confidential digital records of interactions, progress, and any concerns.
• Identify and report any safeguarding concerns or risks to the appropriate channels immediately.
• Stay updated on child development best practices and available online resources for youth.
• Facilitate participation in online group activities or support sessions for youth.
• Serve as a positive role model and build trusting relationships with young clients remotely.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Previous experience working directly with children and/or youth, preferably in a care or support role.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills, with a capacity for virtual engagement.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of young people.
• Proficiency in using video conferencing software (e.g., Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams) and other digital communication tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• A stable internet connection and a private, secure workspace.
• Understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
• Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations.
• Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new remote support methodologies.
