About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their fully remote team. This position will focus on providing expert geotechnical analysis and design recommendations for a wide range of projects, primarily managed and delivered remotely. You will leverage advanced software and your deep understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering to support project teams across South Africa. This role offers the ultimate flexibility, allowing you to contribute to significant engineering challenges from anywhere. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proficient in remote collaboration, and capable of delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced geotechnical analyses and design foundation systems remotely.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports based on client-provided data and remote analysis.
• Provide expert technical advice on soil stability, slope engineering, and ground improvement from a remote setting.
• Review geotechnical data and methodologies utilized by project teams.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients via virtual communication channels.
• Stay abreast of advancements in geotechnical engineering and remote analysis techniques.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng. or P.T.O.
• Minimum 10 years of specialized geotechnical engineering experience.
• Expertise in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS 3D, GeoStudio) and remote analysis tools.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple complex projects remotely.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and virtual communication skills.
