About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Remote Facilities Hygiene Officer to oversee and ensure superior hygiene standards across their operational sites, with a focus on supporting functions in Port Elizabeth . This fully remote position involves the development, implementation, and rigorous monitoring of comprehensive sanitation programs without requiring physical presence at the facilities. You will utilize digital tools to assess compliance, train remote teams, and analyze performance data to drive best practices in cleanliness and infection control. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage facility hygiene and sanitation programs in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct virtual assessments and audits of cleaning protocols and sanitation standards using provided documentation and remote tools.
• Develop and deliver virtual training modules for on-site staff on proper cleaning techniques, sanitization procedures , and safety measures.
• Monitor and analyze hygiene performance metrics, generating reports on compliance, incidents, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with procurement and facilities teams to ensure the availability and appropriate use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in hygiene technology and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in hygiene management, sanitation, or facility management, with a strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sanitation policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in using digital collaboration tools, data analysis software, and performance tracking systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective remote interaction.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote environment .
