About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Civil Engineer with expertise in Water Resources to join their virtual engineering team. This position focuses on the planning, design, and management of water-related infrastructure projects, including dams, reservoirs, pipelines, and stormwater management systems. You will work from any approved location, collaborating digitally with project teams and clients across South Africa. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong ability to manage projects independently while contributing to sustainable water solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and plan water resource projects such as dams, canals, pipelines, and water treatment facilities.
  • Conduct hydrological studies, hydraulic modeling, and impact assessments for water infrastructure.
  • Develop technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents for water projects.
  • Manage project execution remotely, coordinating with site engineers, contractors, and stakeholders through digital platforms.
  • Ensure designs comply with all relevant environmental regulations and water management policies.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to clients and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
  • Professional registration (Pr. Eng) with ECSA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resources engineering, including design and project management.
  • Proficiency in water modeling software such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, or similar hydrological and hydraulic modeling tools.
  • Proven experience working effectively in a remote or distributed team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
