About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Subsurface Analyst to join their globally integrated geoscience team, supporting projects in areas including Upington . This role is essential for integrating and interpreting various subsurface data streams to identify and evaluate potential oil and gas assets. You will work closely with exploration geologists, reservoir engineers, and geophysicists to build comprehensive subsurface models and contribute to strategic decision‑making regarding exploration and development. This position is perfectly suited for an analytical professional who excels in a remote work setting and possesses a deep understanding of subsurface evaluation techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate and interpret diverse subsurface data, including seismic, well logs, core data, and production information.
• Develop and refine subsurface geological models and reservoir characterizations.
• Perform volumetric analysis and uncertainty assessments for potential hydrocarbon resources.
• Collaborate with geophysicists to evaluate seismic data and identify exploration opportunities.
• Work closely with reservoir engineers to understand reservoir performance and optimize field development strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and summaries of subsurface evaluations for management.
• Utilize advanced software tools for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in subsurface analysis, exploration, or reservoir characterization within the oil and gas industry .
• Proficiency with geological and geophysical software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy , structural geology, and petrophysics.
• Experience with reservoir simulation and data integration techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills suitable for remote collaboration.
