About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Transportation Engineer to join their team, offering a hybrid work arrangement based in Klerksdorp . This role is crucial for the planning, design, and implementation of efficient and safe transportation networks. You will contribute to projects involving road design, traffic management, and public transit systems, balancing remote workdays with essential in-person collaboration. Your expertise will help shape the future mobility landscape, ensuring sustainable and effective transportation solutions for communities. This position requires a blend of technical skill, analytical prowess, and effective communication to manage projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and analyze transportation infrastructure, including highways, intersections, and public transit systems.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analyses, and safety assessments to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, reports, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Manage transportation projects, coordinating with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Apply traffic simulation and modeling software to evaluate design alternatives and predict traffic performance.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant transportation standards, policies, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a specialization in transportation engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation planning and design.
• Proficiency in transportation engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, VISSIM, or Synchro.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, geometric design, and traffic control devices.
• Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
• Professional registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA is preferred.
