About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer to join their remote team, supporting projects throughout the Mossel Bay region and beyond. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fully remote capacity, conducting in-depth analysis of soil and rock conditions to inform foundation design and slope stability for infrastructure projects. You will utilize advanced modeling techniques and interpret field data to provide critical recommendations, contributing to the safety and longevity of construction endeavors without the need for a physical office presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess ground conditions for various construction projects.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports, including recommendations for foundation design and earthworks.
• Develop and implement soil improvement strategies and slope stabilization designs.
• Utilize specialized geotechnical software for modeling and analysis of subsurface conditions.
• Collaborate with project teams remotely, providing expert advice on geotechnical aspects of designs.
• Ensure all geotechnical designs comply with relevant engineering codes and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical investigation and design.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar.
• Experience in interpreting site investigation data and conducting laboratory test analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setup .
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills for remote client and team interaction.
